Well I haven't even had one yet, but hopefull New Years Day I'll have something hatch. Probably just some of my own banty eggs I threw in kind of as an experiment. I put 3 in the refrigerator for a week and 3 freshly laid to see if the refrigerated ones would hatch. Two of my shipped eggs (Flower Hen) were cracked, and they were bubble wrapped and packed in shredded paper. The box looked OK, but I think they really got thrown around.

I put wax on them and so far they haven't leaked or stunk.

LOL, what's with the random full stops? (these things: ".")

Interesting about the refrigerator hatches. Nice little experiment. People up north here usually keep hatching eggs in the fridge because it's too hot everywhere else.

So sorry CR, I lost 2 chicks back in the summer under a broody and I can't imagine how hard it would be to hatch them in the bator and lose one.

Hang in there hoping you'll have some again soon. If you haven't gotten your Christmas card from me on your email please check your spam, it was sent out on the 20th. Thanks, Patricia[Miss Lydia]

Awww, that's too bad. Better luck next time. The first time I used my incubator was with my quail eggs and I only hatched 5. That was out of 60 eggs set.

I don't know if it was because of being my first time incubating, or that they were shipped eggs. The corner of the box was smashed, there were quite a few cracked. Since I'm using all my eggs this hatch I guess I'll find out when the one's in there either hatch or don't.

Thanks Miss Lydia, I found your email card. My 6 year old is now wandering around the house singing silent night before she goes to Nonni's, after playing the card half a dozen times.

OK, Well I have a pretty good sized pip on this duck egg. Looks like it hit a vein though. There's a little blood there. I will say though, this is the best pip I've gotten ever. Almost the size of a dime. Hoping it can do this on it's own.
