Colour mutation that appeared out of the blue in some black Orpingtons in 1994. A spontaneous invention of nature. I did not know that off the top of my head - I have a chicken genetics book.

YES!! Exactly! A color mutation that I believe is derived from black and blue mixed with a little red. However, I have NO scientific basis for anything I do- whatsoever.

Actually, I was thinking, which is always a dangerous thing, that Lav and black would eventually give me a blue, which in turn would give me choc. (With a few steps in between.)

And if nothing else.. I would have a good time trying.​

It may or may not have been a good time but it definitely would have been a long time
