I agree that, out of the possible candidates, those are the parents - Cayuga/Buff male and Khaki female. Silver is not possible with that combination. But your duckling could easily be lilac. Could also be blue (but my money is on lilac). Should be really pretty!!!

Does lilac look the same in mallard derived ducks as muscovies? I goodle lilac duck and all I found were muscovies and flowers, lol.
Duckling is out of the incubator. She is moving around well enough to bowl with the quail eggs, I don't want her to knock over the goose eggs.

Duckling number 2 is out of the shell. Looks black, but isn't fluffy so who knows. It has yellow stripes by his eyes.

that one looks like it came from your ancona.

the other "sounds" like it came from your khaki.

I don't know how lilac works in Mussies but Storey's Guide says a bit about it. I'll have a read.

Ok, looking at book now. Interesting that in Storey's Guide, for Mallard derived ducks one dose of blue = lavender but two doses = lilac. It's labelled the other way round in the duck calculator (ie one dose of blue is called Lilac) . Not very helpful!! I'd say you have a duckling with one dose of blue. Not possible to have two doses if you have no duck with blue in her.

Looking at info on Muscovy lavender now. No, not at all the same as it is in Mallard derived ducks. Lavender in Mussies is formed in the same way as it is in chickens - two doses of a recessive Lavender gene combined with black.

Well, when my dad said I could put what I wanted out there.. I started focusing on chickens. Then I got really interested with the whole genetics thing.. So I think i will increase my mallards over the spring/summer, get my chickens all set up, and then see where I'm at. I kinda needed to choose one thing to focus on and I chose the chicken side of things for now.
