JZ, hope you are OK after the terrible snow / ice storm Washington just had.

I hope you didn't loose electricity with all those eggies in bator and little fuzzy butts!

Hopefully it will all melt quickly and get you back to normal.

WOW 125 posts since I was last on.... STILL no power

Since about 10pm last night, stiill no mail today either, western WA schools all closed til further notice. My BATOR however is humming away. Thank Goodness my Hubby filled a 5 gallon gas can for the generator, it runs for about 3 hours until I have to refill it, so I had to wake up every 3 hours last night to keep my bator running. I had to move all my chukar babies, and pheasants back into the hatching area in my bator, since I have no heat lamps going.

My ducks are p*ssed, they want to come out of the coop & run around. Glad your eggs are on their way! I hope mine doens't arrive here until Sat for delivery! I spent WAY to much on 2 auctions for them not to get to me

I finally just had to reroute all my extension cords to reach my routers for the internet. Missed you guys

. I guess having a two story house with only one phone line kinda sucks. I did howver make coffee with snow

no i dont know for sure.
the last time i felt like this. i went to the back doctor, and he said that what it was (from having the flu and throwing up)
and this feel about the same (minus the flu)
its feeling better this afternoon.
hope it stays on this uphil slide.

JZ, I hadn't read post that you had lost electricity. Sounds like you have it under control, hopefully, with generator. That's on my list of "need to get one of these days".

Last time I looked there were 540 unread posts and I just can't keep up with you guys, so I'll just have to skip "large chunks". Bear with me if I ask redundant questions. Hope everyone's eggs are growing/hatching.

We are actaully VERY fortunate. Our entire school pre school to 8th grade can fit on one schoool bus, VERY family, christian oriented, we still say Under God, CAn say prayers at the lunch table, Bake homemade goodies for classrooms... My school knows my kids by name, & know my voice when I call the school. I can freely walk through the school, and volunteer anytime in my kids classrooms. LOVE IT !!!

I know exactly what you mean!! I love that my kids are still 'innocent'! My 10 year old knows what is out there in the world, but doesn't have to face it on a daily basis. They have plenty of interraction from tons of kids and adults, and are learning about having discernment and how to be social, etc. We are not 'sheltering' them, we are just perparing them for the world a little slower than public school kids. My 2nd child (8yo girl) is amazingly brilliant and seems to pick up everything she tries!! She is on swim team, piano lessons, is learning to sew, knit and crochet, and excels at every subject I throw at her! I can't keep up! She is now in 5th grade math (in 3rd grade). I love that she has so many opportunities available to her!!

Have you looked extra-local? there are some places that may do the distance thing and still be accredited?? I don't know. I will have to ask our principal if she knows of anything! But, if nothing else, you can home school her until high-school. Then let her take advanced and dual-enrollment classes through your schools. Or, our state has an on-line program for home school kids, so they are basically doing public school, but at home.

I hatched 6 Chinese White geese out of 14 eggs (but he didn't charge me for 4 ~ because they were old)

Try posting a wanted ad for them on craigslist. Shipping is very hard on goose eggs. They are so big even with careful handling the air sacks don't make it. These are the only 2 out of 5 I have that have developed. If you can't find anything local go for the ebay ones (that's where I got mine) but I'd try local first. I haven't done anything different with my goose than duck eggs really, other than misting them.

Luv them! So pretty. I had someone want to give me an adult trio in November for $100. But I was not set up for them yet. They are sooo elegant

I'm looking at Sebbies... but I'm scared. Those puppies are too expensive to try to "learn" on!

I don't care where you live EVERYONE should have at least a small one.... I have one I bought from Harbor Frieght, it is small, I can carry it around easily, runs on two stroke, isn't that loud, we take it camping in our campervan, and bought it for $99.95 on sale.

Probally shouldn't have went outside to take pictures of my disater zone of fallen Evergreen branches... one took out my mailbox & squished it entirely, and about 8-10 more have brocken & fallen ~ YIKES Widowmakers, still have a few large hangers.






THESE bad boys limbs sounds like a bomb cracking & booming when one comes down! ALOT of weight on these. Oh well guess we needed a new mailbox anyways? Maybe make it shaped like a rooster.... Yeah talking to myself
