That's ridiculous Evelle. My oldest has missed 3 days of school, and is borderline on having bad attendance.

Yes, school is important, but so are other things. Weather happens, we only live a mile from my daughter's school and I kept her home twice last year when they had school but our road was covered in ice because it never gets cleared. Wasn't dragging my little ones out on a slippery road to get her to school and didn't trust the bus.

4 feet of snow
no plow??
and you have no snow boots..
just to set up the plot

now would you dress them and tromp 3 miles to a bus stop to catch a bus at 6:30 AM!!! and send your girls to school with soaking wet clothes??
or would you say screw that its a personal snow day??

When I was in school I missed a lot of school because of snow. We lived down between 2 big hills way out in the country and the bus could not get down to us or back up the hill. Plus we were working farm so during baby calf time and harvest we missed a lot then too. So we were always in trouble

I may have accidentally bid on my silkie eggs. I have an hour and 20 minutes until auction end. I need to go talk to my silkies and try to convince them that it's spring and I need a broody, quick! A couple at least. I only like to put 8 eggs max under them.

yes, a bus stops at an off road of ours the bus wont go up our road and just stays on the main road which is about 3 miles from my house..
and i have to get them at the bus stop by 6:30am or we miss it.
so we have to leave at like 6 so we dont miss the bus plus the snow on the ground really slows us down
i mean im really not being to unreasonable right??
school doesnt start untill 8...
im i way out or should i just toughen it up and drag my girls to the stop??
plus its scary to walk on my road in the dark what if a bear or a cougar is stalking us?? and cars drive all crazy thats another thing that scares me.. i dont want one of my girls getting hit by a car because we are walking in the dark!!! i bring my dogs with us because im scared of cougars..
that was for a whole week and no snow on the ground and that was hard..
