CG- Yeah for eggs!!!!!

JZ- I've been thinking about that roast goose thing... If I'm not attached, I can eat them. It's just harder when I hatch them myself.

you can tell the difference between the pekin and scovy.
so my plan is to set the scovy tomarrow. and wait a few days and then put the pekin in.

These are on my Bucket List !!! I heard Pekin is more fatty, but I was told NEVER eat Muscovy eggs because the Duck is soooooo much yummier... I know its dinner time & I am hungry & I think my tummy is posting now

Not as many as you would think, I am really good at selling my poultry !

I have close to 30 Chukars
11 Midget White Turks
9 Bourbon Red Turks

6 White Chinese Geese
5 Cayuga Ducks ( keepind 1 drake & 2 girls)

1 Blue French Maran Roo named "Bluester" KEEPER
1 GORGEOUS Black Pullet named Berlioz KEEPER

3 Marans that are for sale

9 Split Sussex (only keeping 1 roo to 3 hens) waiting to feather out more
10 Pure Coronation (only keeping 1 roo to 3 hens) " "
21 RIR (all for sale or freezer)
11 Guineas (All but 1 cock & 1 hen will be for freezer & then I will order more eggs of varied colors)
1 White Silkie ( my daughters)
1 WH orp
1 lav/wh Splash Orp
1 Lav Orp.

in my brooder 6 pheasant, & 6 Chukar babies

My Chukars, Turks, Ducks, Geese, Sussex, RIR will all be Butcher able at the same time. So I will continue to sell them & what I do not sell & are not SQ will go in the freezer. So what I hatch now will be second round of poultry & culling by end of summer.

I keep track in my egg journal, like a diary but an egg diary. I keep track of all purchases, ebay auctions, bought off CL, Traded, Bartered, prices, breeders, auction names, date recieved, date set, LD, Hatch, Loss, Sales, addresses, numbers, etc I KNOW crazy, but I was an accountant for years! So I need to know what I have at all times !

I do that too, not to this extent.. but I keep track of hatches and egg money, etc.

I also put all my egg/duck money in an envelope just for fun to see what I've made on them.

When I start my projects I'm going to have to find a way to keep track of hatches. Maybe one shelf for each breed, or leg bands.. I have a ways til I need those type of organization skills though.

I'm getting ready to rotate my eggs and add water. Going to try to get a quick candle in and I'll report back.
