The way I incubate...
I obviously let eggs set a minimum of 4 hours & a Maximum of 24 hours (depending on how fresh the eggs)
I rotate all my eggs (quail duck goose chicken pheasant etc) at the same time and same intervals from day one of setting in the bator
I rotate all right up until I put them in LD ~ I lay all on their sides
I keep my temp at 99.75 ~ with a shut off of 100.5
I also keep my humidity at a minimum of 70% and a maximum of 82% DURING the WHOLE ENTIRE hatch from set to LD to Hatch....
Now this is per incubating instructions for my Cabinet incubator.
OH & I do not fuss/touch/ or candle any of my eggs until day 14. I know that would be hard for MOST of you .... hint hint YOU know who you are !
I luv these!!! They are like 3.99 a bag, & 1 bag will do a 4' x 4' Brooder about an inch or more deep! It keeps for weeks, You just need to stir it, no odor at all, no moisture for bacteria to grow, & keeps their feet so clean that it looks pristine, even with my Turkeys, & Feather foots. My Silkie does not have a lick of anything stuck to her. & if water gets spilled it soacks it up immediately. I also use it for my Ferret Litter, Cat Litter too. Me loves multi purpose stuff ! Also it can be used as FIRE![]()
It also gives traction for their little feetsies! I also dust the pellets with DE (Diatemaceous Earth)
They are just Premium Grade Wood Stove Pellets...
