Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I just finished my morning turning and did a quick check on the cayuga eggs. I'm really worried about them. They are all scrambled and setting upright, but as of day 6, I only see one egg with a clear spider vein. Seems like most have a nice red glow, but are not developing at a normal rate. On the other hand, I have 9 ancona eggs developing great (set same day). I am wondering if I should pick up another 6-12 cayuga eggs... just so hubby can get matches for the 2 boys/1 girl from the 1st set, because the only other eggs I set this week are anconas and silver apples. What do you think?

Iain- more eggs are always better. How dark are the cayuga eggs? I'd give them until at least day 10 before giving up.

Morning everyone

LOL you guys are such enablers! Julie, my flashlight penetrates the darker shell easily and I can see them fine when candling. I guess I can wait until the weekend.... and make arrangements to have new eggs shipped out Monday, if necessary.
