That's too bad, but it is nice having a reason. Since he's letting you get more do you get to keep some you hatched too?

i already told him yesterday i was keep the two that lived, and there was nothing he could do about it! and i get to keep a couple from my next hatch if it goes well, he feels really bad so is being very leiniant about the number of new additions

Update on my little Hitler duckling.... he is still not eating, but drinking fine. He is walking back/forth from water to teddy bear, but mostly is napping on teddy bear. His peep is pretty good. Respiration normal. No sneezing or discharge. Eyes clear.

Call me crazy, but he seems constipated or something to do with the digestion??? Perhaps I did not chop a piece of greens up enough and it went down the wrong way?

I did, however, see him take his 2nd poop of the day just now... and he is shedding a lot of that white stuff out of him.

stupid teenage roosters chased my broody off her nest and were after her.
but i rescued her and got her settled back on the nest.
she was only off for a moment or 2.
she was clucking real quiet.
she was either A. soothing her eggs.
of B. complaining about naughty roosters and how rotten they were

my mom puts mini fencing around her broodies while they are sitting. She also puts wire fence over thenest box if ones in there. She lets them out twice a day - takes off the fence stuff - then comes back and puts it back. I suppose its becasue of that very problem, but unsure.

so new information came to light today, hubby admitted that we i was in the shower my son messed with my bator and the temp spiked alot, and the temp went to around 105 but he said it could have only been like that for about 5-10 minutes. he fixed it but didn't want to tell me and have me get

, i am pretty PO'd but mostly because he just sat there and basically let me belive it was somehow my fault the babies were having all that trouble

atleast i have some sort of maybe reason things went wrong and i now have a new heavy duty gate on my room door, that NO ONE is allowed to enter without me!

hubby also said if i want i could go and pick out a few babies at TSC this weekend and if it works out with the lady i can get my 2 pekin hens

I've had slow starters. I think sometimes their digestion isn't so good at first. Maybe yolk related issues, but I don't really know. I've had them come out of it, and also waste away. Sorry, but only time will tell.

Open his mouth and shine a flashlight and make sure there's nothing stuck. Maybe give him some sugar water or pedialyte until he starts eating.
