Hey guys, bad news to report.

Little Sebbie died early this morning. We're sad. But also thankful that we have one that made it out all by itself, healthy and strong.

I'm not a vet, but I really think it got fluid in it's lungs. It never peeped like normal. It's breathing was like it was gasping. And it took a breathe every 4 seconds. It only opened it's eye normally one time. The rest of the time it was the white of the eyes. Like they were rolled down.

I've never helped a goose, obviously, but I've never seen this much fluid in a duck and my instinct was telling me it's not normal.

Im sorry you lost one that made it this close. Glad your DH wants to do something nice for you.

Sorry Quackers about your Goosie!

You did get one to hatch normally & is doing great, a 50% hatch 1 out of two eggs is great, think about it you ONLY had 2 shots, not like a dozen eggs . I won't buy any less than a 3-4 egg auction, If I am paying shipping I want better odds, The guy I bought my sebbie eggs from sent me 5 for $50.

Please try not to overanalize what your doing, you are doing everything right & you know that girl! I go with my intuition too! We are not there to see 1st hand, but here for moral support & help our best ! CONGRATS on the 9 JAVAS !

My 4 Embden Goose eggs I hatched just recently I Got 2 out of 4 eggs. The two that did not make it, one looked good but kinda off when candled but was

& the other just didn't pip & there was no movement so who knows ~ I also don't crack open unhatched eggs

Do you have any poultry auctions near you? I don't know if you saw that I bought 5 Pilgrim Eggs!! & bought 2 goose egg auctions on ebay

& a duck egg auction!

My hubby is remodeling our brooder room.... again... since we are giving my best friend the smaller pen to raise his new babies. I am pretty sure this will be the final remodel... at least I hope it is!

I went ahead and emailed that kid to see how much his goslings are. I'm going to ask for pics of the parents too.. See if I get a good/bad feeling from him.
