These are the Saxony. I was guessing on the day because I didn't write it down!  oops.  But I bought them on the 3rd of Feb.. Which was a Friday.. But I thought I set them on that following Thursday, who knows..

 When they're done I'm shutting the cabinet bator off.    It needs a break.  (and so do I)  Plus with my girls starting to lay, I can hatch my own duckies!!!  Got 3 more eggs today!  These aren't blue though... so I think they're Ancona Girl.

Im gonna open one up slightly. If its alive. Will it kill it?

riley loves to watch them he puts his feet on the edge of the brooder and looks at them for as long as you let them and doesnt move a single muscle.
but then again he loves everything including the hermit crabs.

I've never just done the opening for a chick before. I think Celtic said something about using a q-tip (wet) and slowly rubbing a hole into the egg. If they are dead, though, it could be most unpleasent. If its alive and not ready, it could kill it. If its due, and alive and too big too do it itself, you'll save it. Its a crap shoot honey. Let us know how it goes, if you proceed.

I forgot to tell you guys I have 22 qbobtailed quails in my bator I see 18 vained up and movIng, the other 4 I'm not sure.
My husband doesn't know so shhhh don't tell him I also got 4 Silkie chicks hatchery quality.

I had to open up a duck egg. Had a dead baby duck in it..... I bawled. It had the crested gene, and its brain was exsposed. Very nasty. This couldnt be any gross it is dead... I will die if I kill it though.... .... I need to know though....

I don't think you should. If they don't hatch, they didn't make it. If they were going to, you would have killed it.

I candled, and there were no pips! At all.
The air cells are all tipped and everything.... But theres no movment.
When should I chip one open, and check? this is killing me!

Oh! And my ducklings almost killed themselves! They were running around the yard with me, and when I turned around for one seconfld, they both jumped in the ICE COLD POND! Then couldnt get them selves out. And seriously all most froze to death... They couldnt move... I think their trying to scare me to death!
