I'll keep an eye on them and keep you guys updated. I'm crossing my fingers all four hatch!!!![]()
Ugh... all of her babies in bator were shrink wrapped. She was too late. She also has eggs under her goose... and is running to check them now. I so hope she finds one alive!!
White mountain.... sounds good. I would check every hour, not two... for ANY signs of slowing. Have your qtips, cuticle scissors, and tweezers ready.
What is the deal with shrink wrapping, and all the poor or difficult hatches??? I had two little bantams make it to internal pip the other morning. Both were peeping at 7am, but no pip. About two hours later, only one was peeping. Dug into the quiet one and it had died, with no obvious reason why....no shrink wrapping. So I then dug into the second one that was still peeping but no pip. It was alive, yolk abosorbed, ready to hatch but didn't pip, and again no shrink wrap. I saved it...little lavender bantam Americauna...just like the one that died. I have never had so much trouble with incubation as I and so many other's are having this year.![]()
ETA: and none of my eggs have been shipped, they are all mine
And Julie.. You have a great idea with switching kids for the day.![]()
My 4 Silver Appleyard duck eggs are STILL in there. I heard peeping last night, but not any yet today. I am so nervous, it's been three days in lockdown and still not even a pip!![]()
Me either. It's making me worried about my turkeys, who aren't due until saturday. I keep staring at the incubator, lol.I just weird. And I don't like it!
Seems more fair to me then $20.![]()
I hate hatching ducks. Compared to chickens and quail they take soooo long to incubate, and then take forever to hatch too. I'm hoping I have good broodies next year for everything, chicken, duck, geese, and turkeys.

On the bright side, I think I see a dot in my goose egg. Not sure what kind of goose egg it is. My mom's friend gave it to me. She has toulouse, africans, and canada geese. Well, the canada geese aren't "hers" but they came and stayed for the free food. Kind of hope it's a mix of the above, which would be neat. Didn't think it would grow, she found it by the water and it had a big air cell and kind of stunk, but I guess there's hope after all.![]()
Hey QJ, do you mind going over to goose thread.. poster found 2 alive... think she may need help to save these guys.
