Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I don't know why I don't have any shrink wrap issues?? I mean I am not complaining at all. Could it be the bator or maybe opening it to many times.

I literally only candle 2 times in the whole 21-28 days. & the second time is just to put them in LD. Then I leave them alone until they pip.
Its funny, when I only incubated my own eggs, I only checked days 10 and lockdown, and never noticed shrink wrap. Now, with expensive shipped eggs, I check once a week, or more if I'm feeling curious now. Now I have shrink wrap.

There may be something to that.

You are doing amazing things for him. Next time we find a baby squirrel, I'm calling you.

Seriously, good work Julie! I'm thinking it'll come back to you 10 X.

Icu baby #2 has her legs under her so maybe there is hope for her
Yay for baby #2!!! Go baby!

After yesterdays experiences for me, and the sebs moving slow, I've pipped them. All 4 eggs are doing well and in the hospital bator in the 85% hum. sauna. All seem very well and healthy, and luckily their beaks were on top, so only had to be minimally invasive.

The Giant toulouse is being more vocal, and staring to wiggle and jiggle in his shell. I think he's gonna be cruising about soon.

All suffered from bad shrink wrap.

I don't think that's a bad idea myself.

What do you got going on?
I got 2 Toulouse goose eggs ready to hatch anytime. 2 Buff/SA eggs ready too. Have a BUNCH of polish chicken eggs in incubators, some pekin, cayugas and Blue Sweden eggs cooking and then 2 Sebbie eggs and a Canadian goose egg in the incubators too.

Good news. And you have a good point with the shipped eggs thing you said above. But then again.. I've had entire batches shrink wrapped that I didn't candle. Like these last 4 ducks that were my friends. I will conquer this question. And if not.. when I die and go to heaven I'm going to ask God.. "What really makes ducklings shrinkwrap!" Because it bothers me that much. Lol.
