I'm out of feed. I sold bunch of chicks today so have extra "chicken" money. The feed store I need to go to to get my feed is having chick days today. I am actually looking for a few birds for my "special project". I am also going through empty brooder syndrome.

Hoping I can manage to make it back with just feed.

Bakin, I have friends who count down the days until their kids turn 18yo, like they are doing time. How much longer do you have to go? lol

Baby's feet are better already. The shoe fell off this morning. Now if only I could find buyers that aren't going to flake out. I have one person coming out of three. I had some phone numbers of backups, but most of them don't want ducks until two weeks from now. One guy had to ask his wife's permission (good man)!

Hey Iain Utah! I'm good... Setting 3 dozen duck eggs sometime in the next few weeks... 2 and a half dozen WH eggs, and 6 from QJ. Hoping for a good hatch, I'm so poor! lol How are you? What you got hatching???

Hey DG! I just set the SILKIE DUCK eggs that hubby bought for my birthday! I need to get some more eggs, the bators are looking empty.

over half got 40 quail now 39 more to go

so the post office just told me i was outa luck on finding my package even tho it was priority mail

The post office is on my SnIT LIST too. They took my ultra-treasured SILKIE DUCK eggs and stuffed them into the mailbox even though the box was literally covered in stickers that said "GLASS" and "PERISHABLE" all over it! I think I'm going to lodge a complaint.

You sent priority and they just told you were out of luck?

The day a PO worker tells me that is the day they get snatched over the counter

Hello all! Here is a run-down on what I have hatched. Kind of funny...got 5 silkies and 5 Calls. That must be my lucky number, lol.
Silkies:
1 splash
1 blue
3 buffs

Calls:
1 grey
1 blue fawn
3 butterscotch

Two of the butters are tiny, and I still have one with the egg attached to it's rear. It should have been totally out this morning. I think it was Bakin that mentioned how orderly my hatcher was? Well it isn't now...looks like something out of horror movie in there! LOL

Haha. My bator looked like the aftermath of a Grateful Dead concert the other morning.

Nice new babies!

I've been cleaning all morning. I havn't done any for two weeks now, and frankly, the smell of the toilet alone was sufficient to motivate me. Girls weren't too excited, but I make them help anyway. DH took a nap! (He's the neat freak, so when he fell asleep, I got the girls and we tried to do the quick clean so we didn't have to clean with him)

I've got 8 baby bourben red turkeys going on lockdown in a couple of days. This time I've set them last, so they don't have to change bators for lockdown. I'm just going to turn off the turner when its upright, and wish them good luck this time.

I can't believe how much the americaunas, BCMs, turkey, silkies, ducks, and other assorted geese have grown in two short weeks. I'll try to get first picks of some today, even though they are about 2 weeks old. Of couse, the sebbies from Celitic are a month and 6 weeks, and the newbies are only a week.

Got to go make new fences today, too.

Busy day!

Dutch, it is so worth it. But, I'm glad to be done hatching after this last cayuga egg on day 21 does its thing.

Time to start culling. My best friend's sis-in-law (who I love!) asked if she could have a cayuga drake to go with the two ancona ducks I gave my best friend a couple of months ago (and then she immediately stole them from my best friend). It makes me very happy to find the perfect home for my extra cayuga drake.

And I talked to the owner of my local feed store today. He is pretty sure he can find homes for some (if not all) of my excess ancona drakes. I also told him that if he knew someone who wanted pet barnyard toulouse and who would take excellent care of them, I would be willing to rehome them. He thinks he does. We'll see what happens.

Busy Assp Saturday, but I love getting stuff done! Glad to be happy to do it again.

Glad you're doing better! And don't forget, we're all here if you need to talk. Things do improve, but there are always those moments when a hug is needed.

I bought myself two ducklings from the feed store on Thursday. I have to confess. I couldn't resist because I couldn't figure out what breed they were. Birthday ducks. One of those is a crested something-or-other.
