Celt I did my best to capture it.... IT REALLY is this iridescent purplish blue, reminds me of lacing on chickens. In the sun it is amazing. I have no idea what it will look like as an adult!

Sebbie pictures, the third one down has a gorgeous head on it. Will be interesting to watch it grow.
Dutch... Too true on growing out into something different, but for now that grey is darling. Let's hope it stays that way.
I don't know which one your thinking of?Jaz, 11th picture down in the wing shots, do you have a full body picture of that goose?
Just watching ebay & I swear some people are on crack! Why would it cost $23 to ship 3 chicken eggs???
Quail are mean little things. I wanted bobwhites originally, but since they are supposedly about 10x worse than the coturnix I'm really glad I didn't even try.update of whats going on with us.... got the stuff to build the coop for the seabrights and new rabbit pens for the breeders. along with roof and legs for the grow out rabbit cages.
Steep loss of quail... we're down to 20-30 from over 50 hatching. Didn't realize they needed so much room and are really brutal little things. On the other hand "Survival of the fittest" so we will design and build new brooders before we hatch any more of the little buggers, lol
9 days till Fred hatches what she's sitting on. we've only seen her off the nest twice but she looks good so she's eatting and drinking. Will it disturb her if I gt her off the nest to candle the eggs or should I just watch and see what happens? I'm more interested in what kind of mom she's gong to be then getting a good hatch.
Purple?Hey Fergie, my Sebbie from Lisa, has her little feathers coming in and the ones on her tail and a couple on her wings are purple.
thoughts on that Celtic?
Aww, I wanted to see a purple goose.ok, smarty pants. I said purple because I didn't know what the right color word was. It's darker so I'd say more lavender than lilac. If that sounds right.
I'll get a pic, but it's be a minute. I have to run for feed right quick.
He's getting huge! Great pics!As promised.... when I took Barley & co. out to their side yard this morning, I brought my camera. Got a fun sequence of shots. The ONLY thing Barley is not scared of are my cats, and my cats don't get it because they like Barley & co. But Barley always chases the cats away whenever they get too close. First shot is Barley announcing that cat came into yard... then Barley chases it back through window (ie cat door) and marches back all proud of herself for taking care of the cat.

Yay!Babies are at PO!!!
Great news!Ok...the Call ducklings continue to amaze me with their tenacious desire to survive. I went to pull out the container holding what I thought would be a dead duckling, and found it was fully alive, sitting with it's head up and eyes open, looking at me. I can't believe it!!! This baby was so listless last night, I find it hard to believe this is the same baby. I put it in with the other two, without being in a container, and it's motoring around with them and even flipped itself back over when it got excited and flipped. I'm just sitting here in disbelief![]()
Got my babies! They are so cute! I'm in love! Yes, I know this is against every rule out there, but I connot post pics till later! Gotta finish baby playpen! Oh, and celtic, don't see any care sheet lol.
I will have to snap a head shot. I can't tell which head shot goes with each goose ~ X-specially the white ones! This one
