I would like to share some pics of my new mare, Ima Sandy Star, AKA Sandy. I had to put my gelding down, because he was losing his foot. I haven't been around much lately because of dealing with him, and being so depressed. This girl came into my life last Sunday, and though she isn't my baby boy, she very much needed me, and I needed her. Her hooves are in need of trimming really bad, and the farrier won't be out till the 16th. She needs some weight, and lots of love, as she's been standing in a pasture with no attention for about 3 years. She's a sweetheart, and I already adore her!

I'm sorry about your gelding, Dutch. You can't replace him, but you can make room in your heart for another one to love.

My hubby would be so jealous! He had a friend that had an owl and he always jokes about stealing a baby from the nest on our property.

Dutch, I noticed the high wither too, but concluded it was lack of topline muscle. I bet she builds up to a xw tree. She also looks uphill.... which must make her canter float for a qh! Nice!!

I agree. She'll build up some muscle tone once you've worked with her awhile. And 18 isn't really that old for a horse anymore. You should have a lot of good years left with her.

Good enough. Got a prescription today for another sinus infection. I just hate them, but of course I get them all the time. I try to hold off and only treat it 3 or 4 x per year.

Marty, my appointment is at 5pm (4 hours from now). I was just discussing the various plans with my hubby for her next stage of development, because it is time to move the rest of them to the garage/yard. Hope to have a lot to report this evening. At least for now, she is motoring around on her own today and seems to be building strength back.

Oh, I see. I hate late appointments, I'm not a good waiter. Hatching is good excercise for me. I'm interested in what they have to say, so of course make him drive so you can catch us all up on the drive hom with spirit and her amiga.
