At first I thought it was a picture of a stick with rags wrapped around it, then I saw the wee beastie clinging to it. A cotamundie or something? What is that thing in nature?

I actually though about everything Jerry said the moment I saw it! I didn't think that was a bad price either.

Yes it's a Coatimundi. I think they are Omnivores

I looked them up... as we dont have them here in MO. they are Omnivores and are members of the racoon family, but unlike racoons they are active during the day.

Coatimundi are the south American raccoon, and all though they are cute when little, they are not so cute as adults with attitudes. Don't do it, handled a number of them in the past and man I couldn't wait to ship them out to their final homes. They are smart as a whip, can open things like a raccoon can, are omnivores and will devoure eggs and cause havock with poultry.

Yes Kevin, I had two species of wallaby, descented skunks in multiple colors like chocolate, cream, albino ect. Raccoons in red, blonde and grey. Coatimundi, sugar gliders, flying squirrels, artic fox, silver fox, red fox, platinum fox (she was my favorite and house broke) a pair of emerald green tree pythons. Had a zoo all my own at one point. The Coati smelled like fruit loops


So much for no rain, looks like it is raining from the ground to the sky currently thanks to the wind. Looks like this band is about done. Glad the hoop house is covered for the youngest goslings since they are 3 weeks old.

They sound like they'd be a great addition! I wonder if they could be in a indoor enclosure. I try to keep any predatory animals inside due to all the birds outside.

Hey Sue, hope you and Jerry are both doing well.

Coati and raccoons are both omnivores and Dayurnal (they are active in daytime and night alike) many don't think skunks, coons ect come out in daytime, but they sure do, and not just because they are sick either.

Parrot cages like for amazons and or hyacinth macaws are adequate caging if you add extra locks to keep them in, and don't put against a wall they can dig at. They enjoy hammocks to sleep in, and eat monkey chow as well as a roof fresh fruits and veggies. Their poo, is uumm less than desirable.
