The peachicks finally picked up the rabbit waterer concept. If ducks could use these my pens would smell sooo much better.

Post another pic, or give us the link. I'll take a peek.My 3 week old rouen has something on it's toe. I thought it was a growth of some sort. I posted it on the forum a couple of hours ago and so far, I've only gotten one reply. Will you all check it out and tell me what you think, please. I can post a pic here if you want me too. My 9 year old is in panic mode because she thinks it's bumbletoe (not bumlefoot). They just moved into their own outside coop and run today. They were staying in a brooder that had a wire bottom. I felt that they were just to heavy to have that much pressure on their joints and they were just going in so fast. Anyway, they have plenty of room to swim with a new house and a nice run. We keep the brooders clean and dry. We had to clean the pine shavings everyday (sometimes more than once a day) because the water would soak through to the chicks below which would spell disaster. But if you don't mind, tell me what you think. It's still on the forum. I don't mind putting up another pic.
ONce they get to moving, it absorbs much faster. Perhaps it was something to do with limited turning space in his egg. Glad he's doing good. Keep him away from anything to hurt his yolk.I feel much better now!
He sat under a lamp and a moist towel and preens himself.
He is isolated in the brood box now. Unbelieable! He walks and stands and chirps better than the two with bad legs!
His swelling in his stomach has gone done a lot now. Still hasn't detached from his cord, but I have some hope. He drank some of the vitamin water and now he is standing in his separate isolated container by himself. Maybe he was bulged because he was in the wrong end of the egg, too hot outside in the incubator that i threw out. I'm not sure.
The good news is, he looks incredibly strong and healthy for a 3 hour old duckling.
Will keep you updated.
They are cute, aren't they? Although, on a weird butt note, it looks a bit like baby duck sushi with soya sauce.....
