I now an a proud mama to 7 Japanese hens, 6 Japanese roosters,1 barred Cochie/silkie hen, 3 BEI, 3 White mallards, 2 fawn and 1 black and white polish chickens, 1 Toulouse goose, 1 dark gray and white goose, and a pair of sebbies. I think that's all I have out here.

All friends to Stillmecle, please put her into your prayers for improved health. She is under treatment for a very serious diesease. That's all I can say except we should send her our strength and love and prayers.

Hi SM!!! Miss you!

I had bad news this morning. Hubby found my silkie duck dead this morning, outside the night pen. She'd been escaping occasionally and I couldn't find where the escape hatch was. Guess she wandered out and met our dog, though hubby insists the dog didn't do it (no proof either way).

So, feeling kind of low, I went out and added new bedding to the duck house and did a few other chores. I found the escape hole and plugged it, but too little, too late. Now I have a lone silkie drake and an email in to Holderreads. Hubby's not getting the hints about an early Christmas present either.

I hate this part of caring for animals. I had that little duck since she was an egg.

This is the only adult duck I've lost since I started keeping them. I guess it had to happen eventually.
