Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

sorry to hi jack, I'm a first time incubator, and my duck eggs are on day 22 and wiggling a lot, i know its early so i freaked me out when i saw it, I've candled one because don't want to handle them to much now and there is shadowing into the air cell and lots of movement of the air cell where the shadow is (so possible internally pipped? ) should i go into lock down now? 3 days early or wait till day 25, I'm so confused all the info on the web is a bit vague

thankyou

If you can see there beaks then yes I would Lock them down

If I'm wrong and it hasn't internally pipped will I harm them by going into lock down too early? Super paranoid first time duck mum that I am!!

Thanks I'll put them in lock down, they're having a good old wiggle , and am amazed they've made it this far considering they are shipped eggs and so late in the season, just hope they make the last few days, trying not to be excited just Incase i lose them

Just remember to be patient. It still might be another 3 eggs until you have babies running around. Ducks are slow! Be sure to post pics when they hatch!

Ducks are soooooo slow to hatch. LOL X2 what everyone else said. lock down now is fine, by the weekend you might be seeing some fluffy butts running around.

Here is an internal pip picture i got on one of our recent hatches.
