this morning on eagle cam's moderated chat - posted from Ed Clark at the Wildlife Center of Virginia:
"Good Morning Eagle Nation!! I am just popping in briefly to say a huge THANK YOU!!! to all of you who voted, and especially to all who helped get out the vote!! As you know, it's now official that WCV finished 5th, and will receive a grant of $200,000. Our friends and colleagues at NBG were also in the top 10 and will receive a grant of $100,000. Congratulations to them, and all their supporters as well.
I don't know about you all, but I am very glad it's over and we can get back to watching and raising eaglets 24/7!!! We'll have a lot of fun stuff to share with you in the coming weeks. One hint is that a new eagle enclosure/flight pen is under construction this week! As planned, that flight cage will have a permanent nest chamber built into the side for raising babies, and yes, before you ask, we plan to have a camera available for use when the chamber is occupied!
Again, everyone, THANKS SO MUCH. The last four weeks have been nothing if not intense, but so much good has come out of what began as a tragic accident. Anyone who cannot see Mama Eagle living on, is just not paying attention!
Thanks again. I'll join you later today---after some more coffee!"
Congratulations!!!
