I got to play perch again while @Purple Rose and her father got the brooder cleaned out.

Steggie thinks my toe makes an ok roost. @Purple Rose is cleaning out the grit dish, and you can see the chunk of sod we've brought in and added to the brooder box. So far they seem scared of it.

Cera's flying around the room more, and landing on my head.

Tiny Terri is starting to catch up on feather development, and flaps her little wings like a panicked hummingbird.

Cera still considers herself Queen. Tyra may give her a run for it though.

And now that the rain has stopped, the kids get to go transfer a LOT of paver stones from the trunk of the car to the back patio so when it dries a bit I can use them to support the run and block the gaps under it.

Love the pics. My chicks are also 3 weeks old.

I put a chunk of sod in the brooder this past week. At first, the chicks avoided it, but after about 20 minutes they started jumping on it. Soon afterward they picked it apart, eating the greens, and scratching the rest of it into the bedding. Disappeared in about 1 hour! I will give them some more sod this week and see if they tear it apart faster.
