Personal opinion here:
I think if someone took the time and had the patience and space, they could create a breed that almost exactly resembles the original Saipan. It would take several years of hatching a lot and critical selection based on type and disposition and not on personal favorites.
Key here would be to hatch as many as possible, preferably no less than 60 a year.

I'm not purposely contesting anything that you're saying or describing just sharing my thoughts on the matter.
The picture of a Saipan that Cackle hatchery has on their website is very similar to what a Saipan is supposed to look like. In my experience however, the Saipan you will actually get is not like that picture. I got some Saipan from Cackle several years ago, they all turned out to be cockerels and none of them looked like that picture.
I still recommend that you keep your order with Cackle, because it's possible that they have improved their stock from when I had gotten some.

Well, they certainly haven't put up any updated videos, or pictures of their birds. They should.

I have Saipan from Cackle ordered as well… we can compare the chicks from the order. I am hoping we get at least enough to have the ability to breed them… fingers crossed
