Thyme After Time

Hey Friends,

I could not resist naming this thread Thyme After Time, ha ha!
Okay... Back on subject! Does anybody here grow Thyme?

I wish there was a way to grow time! But the herb.
Do ya? I grow very little, but some Thyme.

Two bundles, they spread already! I started growing them last year.
I hear it is hard to grow Thyme from seeds, so I bought bundles.

I love the pop of color in the summer... Purple flowers.
When is it edible? When is is 'ripe' to be picked?

How do you pick it? I also wanted to ask this question... Etc. It might be far fetched...
Does anybody here use it for chickens? Like in their water or something like that?

Even for humans, Thyme Tea is my next invention/recipe.

Please drop in if you do grow it or wanna! Any tips/fun/growing/recipes are great!

Sincerely,
The Angry Hen

I've grown thyme for years in Miami. It eventually was done and then I was a failure. Now I'm PA I have two pots of thyme and both are doing well

Hello,

Nice to meet you! I am glad to hear,
that there's another Thyme grower on backyard Chickens.

I am very happy that you are having good luck with your Thyme!
Have you been using it for drinks/food or anything like that?

Sincerely,
The Angry Hen

I grow rosemary, sage, oregano, chives, mint, & tyme. I use them all in my cooking. Oh, also dill in the garden. Thanks feed a lot of mint to my chickens.

Hello,

Nice to meet you! I would love to grow more of those herbs in the future!
Yes, I have heard that mint is extremely healthy around/in the coop/run.

Thank you so, so-much for responding!
May I ask what your favorite herb is?

Sincerely,
The Angry Hen
