Tick Seasons Here Tell Me Your Worst Tick Probs With Pets

I had a thought... don't chickens eat ticks? If you were to put your chickens (which I assume you have since you're here on BYC) in closer proximity to your horses, might it cure your tick infestation upon your horses? They could be like those birds that ride on buffalo and hippos and rhinos in Africa, eating the bugs; except it would be chickens riding horses.

And my horses have a vast field that my chickies are too scared to follow too LOL! I have thought about getting guinea hens...not sure if my neighbors will appreciate that but I already have a lot of roosters crowing all day, what's a guinea hen?

Ugh, ticks...

In the warmer months, our dogs will get ticks and we don't know they're there until they're the size of a freaking marble! And, yes, our dogs have a LOT of fur, so it's hard to find ticks in their fur.

None really.. If you get em you just pull em out. Nasty things Ick. But I make my on repellent which works on my horses, and us, and the dog, and the cats.. and no problem!
