I'm sorry, I think I'm misunderstanding you. Are you saying that my statement is likening myself to God? And who are you to say that I do or do not have the right to kill an animal that has the potential to destroy my flock?
Yes. Deciding what lives or dies without a good reason is likening yourself to God.
I am someone who respects ALL life, and also the law. As another poster pointed out, what you think is your "right" may actually be illegal.
I'm all for differing opinions. Throwing insults and telling someone their "rights" really doesn't sound like "let's agree to disagree", now does it?![]()
"Throwing insults?" I apologize if anything I said has been insulting. That is not my goal.
But thats an erroneous statement. In my domain, on my property i am God and with the assistance of a Colt AR15 equipped with an illuminated tactical scope I routinely decide what lives and dies on my property.
That is a statement just dripping with ego and anger.
Agreed but there's nothing illegal with stinging that sucker with a well aimed pellet on the hindquarters from my slingshot.
You are incorrect. That absolutely IS illegal. Dogs have been found with pellets embedded in them, and it is a prosecutable offense.
Never had a rat kill a chicken i assume.
That's what you get for assuming. I lived for a time on a ranch as a hand last year whose entire flock of Silkies was being taken out by a rat infestation. We removed the few remaining birds and set the dogs to work. We flooded their tunnels that ran under the concrete floor of the barn, and the dogs would catch them when they'd emerge. It took all of a week or two to eliminate the problem. We returned the birds about a month later and periodically patrol with the dogs even now... but the problem has not resurfaced.
