You can try to clean it off with a wet and soapy paper towel. If he is skittish, it may be easier to wait until he is asleep, and take him off the roost to check it. I wear my headlamp and turn on the red light to pick them up at night or before daylight to give medicines or treatments.

Hes an aggressive rooster but I've trained him enough wear he loves to cuddle and fall asleep on my lap. But if he doesnt like something he will try to bite. I've put stuff on him before so he shouldnt be skittish about it. and night is the worst he's so aggresive at night. He needs his beauty sleep.

Update: I think I found more on his wattle. I tried wiping it off but it wouldnt come off so I dont know if its dirt but it looks scabby. The pictures are bad bc he kept moving but u can try and zoom in.

no, it looked like a small clump of dirt but could have just been a scab. His skin however did get irritated so it'll heal in a day or so. He doesn't seem to care if I touch it.
