Hi everyone and welcome to my art classroom, one of the classrooms in Nixnoodlenumbat's new art school. This is a mini course, lasting only about two weeks. I will not grade every assignment but i will give you honest feedback and give you an overall grade at the end of the class. In this class you'll learn about how chickens are built and how to draw them proportionally. We'll look at some pictures of the bird's skeletal structures and try to simplify and replicate them on paper, figure out how to space the facial features so they look natural, and correctly position the legs and wings. This will hopefully set you well on your way to drawing realistic poultry and other animals too!

Assignment #1: Simplifying Structure
In this assignment you will learn about the structure of a chicken and how it is put together. this will give you a basic understanding of the bird's proportions (eg. the size of the head in comparison to the length of the keel, etc.)
--i'm putting it into steps even tho there are only two lol--
Step 1- draw a simplified version of the image of a chicken's skeleton below. don't bother with negative space of exact shapes of anything, just draw the lines you see. you may use a ruler or your pencil to measure the length of something in comparison to another (eg. the neck is four times longer than the uropygium/tailbone)
Step 2- scan in or take a picture of your work and post it here or PM it to me, whichever you'd prefer.
