So your climate is more like Aart's and mine.

I put a thermometer with humidity sensor in my coop. On average, it was 4-5 degrees warmer than outside on our front porch (which also has a temp/humidity sensor) and 5% higher humidity. If you do this, get an analog thermometer; my digital one didn't work when it got down to 15 degrees.

I lowered the roost for the winter, and used some furnace filter material to cover the bottom half of the ventilation. I added on to the coop last spring, and have some openings I'm going to cover with that material when it starts getting down to the 40s at night. That won't shut off the ventilation, just knock the wind down.

Yep! About 20 minutes south. We're a marshy wetland. When I just say "Ohio" people only think corn, not natural wetland. A lot of my advice for people on BYC comes from knowing how to deal with water lol. If you're in Arizona, that is very cool, and I am of zero help to you . Here's where we are:

Yes, I found that after doing some googling "great black swamp ohio".

When I just say "Ohio"

Adding "Ohio" to your location would be good tho.
