tips for job interviews *** UPDATE Again...... 9/16/.... Now.. 9/17/

Well they said they were very impressed with his resume and were very interested, even though he was a nervous wreak this time around.( Some same interviews so he felt a lot of pressure to be as good as the first time)... So both those jobs were interested, but it can take months to get hired, if they do want him. The one job he didn't really want but they made him come back 5 times, finger print and then photo for ID badge that would have started next week... they decided they didn't need him. He didn't really want it, but we were hoping it would buy us some time until another job came along......... so now we are still at 0.

I know that's disappointing to hear about the job you thought would start next week but sometimes things happen for a reason - since he didn't really want it anyway, maybe the ones he does want will call and want him sooner rather than later and he'll be able to start right away since he won't have to give the other job a two week notice. Hang in there and congrats either way.

I am reading alot of you guys are nervous going into interviews. People I am gonna tell you right now, as someone who has been interviewing others to fill a high profile position. BE CONFIDENT! Even the lowest level job opening, confidence will put you ahead of the pack. Smile, keep your hands rested on your lap. There is no need to be nervous. The people interviewing are not looking for the sweat on your brow - they are looking for the right person to do the job the right way. If you know you have th qualifications, there is no need for nerves. If you don't, then why did you apply? Because you learn fast? SELL IT!!! Because you are smart and get along well with others? SELL IT!!!

We interviewed three men for a Finance Manager position. The guy that is gonna get the offer is the one that cracked an appropriate joke (Handed him the job description and he headed to the mens room saying "It's where I do my best reading"), was relaxed and confident, and displayed the proper desire to accomplished what we need. I work in transit - he has no transit experience, and transit is FULLY federally funded. Get my point?

Yes... Have a handful of resumes that include a small picture in the corner. Make sure they are concise and easy to read. A page on the back that tell about you as a person and what your family life and hobbies are. You want to present a picture of who you are and what you have to offer that will burn in their minds and make you "stand out" A small photograph in the corner... and smell... He should smell good.. Smell is powerful... a dab of his smell on the resume will bring back the interview.. If he did well... the memory will linger longer than the counterparts. Dress like they are going to hire him on the spot... always be ready to work that day and don't be afraid to sell yourself... That is what you are doing.. Selling your wares.. Put the best foot forward... Always dressed to the "t" and pressed creases in the pant and shined shoes.... Dress to impress... The picture (no bigger than a 3 by 5) should be relaxed and pleasant. (bring extra copies of the resume in completeness) for other ppl that may need to have a copy and be prepared to give more than one if necessary... Carry the resumes in something important like a nice satchel in a brightly colored binder... Color makes you stand out.

I am sorry, we are at the same point. Find us a position just a bit better then what he is doing now, then find one better. (Right now my husband is the monkey being called names and not getting paid for his contracts by some drunk)

Things will work out, your husband will get a GREAT job, and you'll have been standing behind him the whole time like the amazing woman you are! Do not get down... just stand back... and move forward!

The place he really wants called today. The main interviewer said they want him to apply for this higher position, and wants to write him a recommendation that's goes to the main hiring. The interviewer would rather give him the higher position than one of the lower positions. So he is applying for that one now.
