Tips on PIcs of candling

  1. pitch black closet, NO external light at all.
  2. egg carton
  3. place egg in carton
  4. candler or flash light
  5. hold light source on top of egg ( I use my thumb and first finger with my hand cupped behind)
  6. smart phone with flash turned OFF
  7. snap a few pictures so you have choices


This is one I held in my hand (fresh egg never incubated)

From someone who I know has a very nice camera. Based on your pictures anyway Celtic ;)
 
Use tripod, slow shutter speed. Make something to lay the egg on like the youtube link. Use manual focus (use macro lens if you have one), you will have great pictures.
 
The whiter the egg and the brighter the candler the easier it will be to see the chick despite camera quality. BUT camera quality does help. a lot. Sorry I am probably telling you stuff you already know <:)
