Tips on treating a Feather Follicle Cyst?

I'm thinking I should tackle his worm problem first, & then his feather cyst.

Wormer won't be here until either the 28th, or 30th. Suggestions on what I should do until then? Even though he's pooping, he is struggling abit to do so, like he's abit constipated. Possibly due to the worms.

OK The syringe you have, the lines are graduated in .20ml, I took your photo and added some numbers to it, as a visual - that may be easier to understand than my typing.

Do you have a Tractor Supply, Rural King or similar store that may have the Safeguard in store? If so, and you can get the dewormer sooner, that would be best. I understand if that's not possible.
Can you get some photos of all of him?
Does he have only the one place on him with the feather problem or are there a lot more?

Is his crop emptying?
Do you happen to have any antibiotics on hand, if so what?

Struggling to poop, you can give him 1 tsp coconut oil twice a day for a couple of days. The poop is concerning to me. I would be inclined to treat for Coccidiosis, give him an antibiotic like Amoxicillin and deworm him. Feed him some white cooked rice with buttermilk. Chick starter for his normal feed.

Yes, he has only one place with the feather issue. I checked him over today just in case. He's also still molting abit.

Crop is working like normal.

Yes, I can get full body pictures tomorrow. He was looking abit sad today, but perked up when I offered some corn as a treat to the flock.

I do not have Antibiotics of any kind on hand except Triple Antibiotic Ointment, & terramycin eye ointment.

I can do the coconut oil, & corid thing. Just not the rice, & butter milk.

I don't have chick feed right now, but I do have meat bird feed that I mix into their feeder.

He eats on his own, he just doesn't eat a ton right now since he feels abit icky, but will eat alot when offered corn.

I don't think caging him would be necessary.

Him, & his weight. He should weigh about 8lbs. He's definitely lost alot of weight.

He's now very lethargic, & weak. Barely can walk, but is able to grip the roost bar. He ate very little. This happened right after his first round of coconut oil, & Corid dose.

Did you direct dose him with the Corid or put it in his water? If direct dose, how much?

I would try to encourage him to eat his normal feed instead of just the corn he loves so much. Bits of cooked egg may entice him too. He's quite pale, you see no lice/mites on him?

I direct dosed him. It wasn't alot, he refused to swallow. I got about 2-3mls into him at most.

He's lice/mite free.

I did encourage him to eat alittle of his regular feed, then he just quit eating.

I would give him egg, but I didn't think I'd needed to scramble some up.

Was that undiluted Liquid Corid? Direct dose of Undiluted Liquid Corid is 0.10ml per pound of weight, he weighs around 4lb 11oz, so I would have rounded up to 5lb - dose would have been .50ml or 1/2 ml


Crop emptying?
Scrambling an egg only takes a couple of minutes.
