The ultimate battle.....
Me not doing my work because I'm stressed and overwhelmed
VS.
Me being stressed and overwhelmed because my work isn't done
Time to form this into an actual post- do you guys have any tips for focusing on work/destressing/getting things done (especially schoolwork that you're not interested in?)?

The hardest part is starting. Set aside a specific time every day that you do it. No excuses. You'll feel much better when it's done.

Believe me, as a teacher, watching students fail because they don't do their work is incredibly frustrating and a serious kick in the teacher parts. Do you want your teacher to feel like a failure?

I'd love to, but my schedule is so varied- I usually have dance after school, and because of my brother's hockey practice, everything (dinner) is at different times every day.

I'm trying really hard to do my work. I'm not outright ignoring it. Just really struggling to stay on track.

I also struggle quite a bit. The way mines set up, I have between 2-6 things due every Monday and Friday. I can sometimes work through it during the week, but seeing the due date and knowing I don't have to do it then makes me put it off. Then I take forever on said days doing loads of work.

1- dont beat yourself up over it
2- get off the internet
3- do a little bit of the yucky stuff
4- put the phone down
5- work on the more fun stuff for a bit
6- get off byc
7- finish the yucky stuff and do something fun as a reward
8- repeat as necessary
 :old

That's an excuse. Get up an hour early. Stay up an hour late. (yes, I'm being mean about it, but sometimes it takes a kick in the pants.)

It doesn't help that my reaction to things is really backward- 'oh welp this is reallly stressing me out time to stab myself in the knee' (not literally, don't worry)
*leg is covered in blood* 'well, this is mildly inconvenient-'

You're fine. I'm the issue here. I do need a kick in the pants, to be honest.
Then log off of here, and go finish one assignment. You can come back after that one, but for no more than 15 minutes. Then go do another one.
