Next to Nancy on the right is that a Sumatra roo? I was hoping #8 & #9 were Sumatra roos but I guess they are not

Is it true that Sumatra hens only lay one egg a week?

That is my Black Sumatra roo, Frank. I don't think you have a rooster-they looked really different at a very young age.
Nancy hasn't started to lay yet, but I don't think they are regular layers, but can tend to be broody.

1. Black Copper Marans roo

2. Perhaps a mix with a Marans? Roo.

3. Columbian cochin hen/pullet

4. Does she have feathered feet? I can tell. If so, I would say black cochin. If not, I am not sure but I don't think Orpington.

5. Cross, perhaps with a Brahma?

6 and 7. Sumatra pullets/hens.

8 and 9. Cross with Sumatra, comb/wattles are wrong coloring for purebred.

#1 looks like a D'Uccle it is definitely not a Black Copper Marans

Go to the Breeds header at the top of this page and look at Marans, this roo is a carbon copy of the one they have pictured. Why wouldn't you agree with BCM? I see nothing to suggest a D'Uccle.

How can you tell the difference between a BCM and D'Uccle.

No idea about marans, but it is NOT a d'uccle.

I can see that it is a little small for even a BCM's bantam, it appears to be a blue/red type color (though that maybe sunlight) and i guess the wing carriage does give another reason but that is debatable due to poor breeding. I can see some OEGB in him though, he's a cross- hard to say of what, and if OEGB is in him then that would be a good explanation of his low-carried wings, though they're supposed to be held higher and close to the body i say it is one of the biggest faults seen in show birds as well. At times i think people pay more attention to color than type.
