Tis the Season... for Break Ins :'( UPDATE!! BUSTED!!!!!!!

Oh, I am so sorry!!!

I know exactly how you feel because I made the same mistake when I dropped my daughter at daycare. I was gone from my car for two minutes.

It is a totally weird feeling and it took me awhile to not worry that he ( I say he because he called my friends and bragged about it on my cell phone) would not drive to my house and drive away in my truck, since those keys were in my purse, etc. I had to change all my locks. Did you change yours?

I am sorry for your loss,

Ladies and Gentlemen, you need to learn what to do to protect your selves. Unfortunately no one thinks it will happen to them.

DW locks her purse in the trunk. Store items under the seat if you must and for heavens sake don't say loud enough to your partner that your going to put/leave your purse in your vehicle. I love the "I'm going to go put this in the car and come back". Guess what, the crook is right behind you watching!!!!!!!

Lord have mercy you would not believe the number of times I've seen women leave the grocery cart with the purse in it. Hang the darn thing on your shoulder!!!!! My DD makes her husband carry/hold her purse and buys the ones that don't look to gay. Of course hes' 6' 4" and will pound you if you say anything. They work so well together.

At my age I don't care anymore.

DW once left a note on the door that said "I left the key under the mat"!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't blame the crooks, cuz you know they are there. The same goes for chicken preds. If after you've done all you could to protect you and yours, then you can be upset. Which I'm sure the OP did by the way.

May we all learn from our mistakes, and never make them twice.

I had to go to the bank because a charge was made with my debit card. (The person I talked to on the phone the night my purse was stolen closed my account, but didn't think of stopping my card

) I got there and was at first completely freaked out. But then I realized that gas stations have cameras! We do not know the exact address of the gas station yet, and we won't until the transaction clears. But once it does, we are calling the police to update our police report and if they won't come with us to the gas station, we are going ourselves. I want to nab this guy!!!

I hope they catch them for you!

Nothing feels worse than being violated. And I will tell you that you are NOT safe out in the country either! My parents have been broken into a couple times. Our house is hard to see from the road so we opted to have 4 big mastiffs and a security alarm installed. Most insurance companies will not cover you if there is no actual breaking and entering if you're robbed so lock your doors!!

I am guilty of leaving my purse in the cart, but I use a carabiner clip and clip it to the cart, so anyone trying to nab it will get caught off guard when the whole cart goes with them.. I never stray too far where I couldn't catch up and I am also always armed... SURPRISE dumb***!!!

I'm always armed with handgun and pepper spray, too. A girl can't be too careful, nowadays. My husband got gas at a gas station nearby and left only minutes before a fatal shooting a few years ago. We both prefer to be armed now.
I also have an EX known for stalking and I take every precaution for that reason as well. I like to take my Doberman with me in the car whenever I can. She's a pretty good deterrent.
