But I'm sorry to move this thread to something depressing and not about chicks or hatching...
Back to the chicks and hatching...
Here's the mini all fluffed up. I'm not sure why they're the color they arenot what I was expecting.

I don't know why they're the color the are. I know this bantam goes nowhere near Squatch. And I'm positive this bantam could never mate with a 10 lb GiantIt's ok! It's all part of keeping chickens and a reality that all of us will have to contend with at some point after the chicks hatch. I thought he was already a goner, I do hope he pulls through for you. And your chick is so cute!!
Yeah I need to get rid of those 3 this weekend. I'm not 100% that the Easter egger is a cockerel. Those 3 Cockerels are like a gang@FortCluck dont panic about everything yet.... one at a time.
make an emergency thread for the boy that’s down. Photos will help. He may have had the pride knocked out of him if he got beat up.
let’s hold off on thinking you have to ditch squatch until other things happen. Is this his first spring? How integrated/close are these other growing out cockerels like the barred rock? I wouldn’t ditch squatch until you ditch those cockerels. You may just have too many around right this second at the start of spring.
I just gave him some electrolytes. I sang to him while I used a dropper to give it to him. I made up a song about him@FortCluck dont panic about everything yet.... one at a time.

You could try separating him so he can still see the hens but not touch.. For me as a rooster ages they tend to calm down.Yeah I need to get rid of those 3 this weekend. I'm not 100% that the Easter egger is a cockerel. Those 3 Cockerels are like a gangHeiHei has been by himself lately.
If he makes it through this I am going to make him his own flock. He's too little to be with this big guy.
Squatch I got last spring as a chick so this would be his first spring as a rooster.
He's picking on the two red sex links and they have no feathers on their back. If they try to eat he flips out and rips out their feathers. It's just those two. He used to love those two and was obsessed with them.
He's an extremely good rooster like almost like a dog. He is very obedient and he knows his name. He stays within a certain distance away from you because that is how I trained him.You could try separating him so he can still see the hens but not touch.. For me as a rooster ages they tend to calm down.
I think he just needs bigger ladies and little does he know there are some in the flock but they are pullets right now.You could try separating him so he can still see the hens but not touch.. For me as a rooster ages they tend to calm down.
