Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I am glad to be hatching myself this year and not buying.

Yes, he got amoxicillin. I forget the dose now. I had it on hand from when I was supposed to be on it - long story short, I apparently go into anaphylactic shock when I take amoxicillin. He was on it and aspirin for 7 days after the attack.

I try to save notes on medical stuff when I can, some contradicting info sometimes so I keep all of it until I have my own situation to deal with and then I read through all of it to make an educated guess until I have first hand experience. This is what I have on FishMox amoxicillin.

- 57 mg per lb of weight given orally 2 times daily
- For most species: 150 – 175 mg/kg PO once to twice daily (using 50 mg/mL suspension) (Clubb 1986)
- Give max of 250 mg twice a day

I’m debating RK vs TSC right now. Just getting out of class. RK is further but has the most recent shipment, plus I like their variety more compared to TSCs. And RK just seems so much cleaner and their babies are always healthier...

Doesnt sound like much of a debate, does it? Lol. No RK up here, but our TSC is always super clean. And the guy that does the chick bin actually knows what he's talking about. My husband wants ducks really badly so we are going to get ducks from them this year....and no he doesnt know about the cayuga eggs I'm getting

Bator update: D19. I SWEAR I just hear a peep come from the Brinsea!? I could have imagined it, it is hard to hear over the whirring. I think I just need to keep myself busy for the next 48 hours or so so I don't go crazy waiting

These just came in today... The manager keeps the store really clean and the bins are always really clean too This is usually the only tractor supply that we buy stuff from.

Doesnt sound like much of a debate, does it? Lol. No RK up here, but our TSC is always super clean. And the guy that does the chick bin actually knows what he's talking about. My husband wants ducks really badly so we are going to get ducks from them this year....and no he doesnt know about the cayuga eggs I'm getting

Our TSC is honestly awful - they overcrowd the troughs with babies, never clean out the bodies, and they leave the troughs disgusting. Every baby I’ve gotten from there has had the sneezes and pasty butt. So I really would rather not go there. The hard part is convincing my mother, who is my wheels for the day since my car is in the shop.
On that note, we found out why my car’s steering went out. Something got up into it and caused the steering fluid to leak. I had been on a rocky, pothole-filled dirt road just before the steering went out. Guess why I was on that dirt road?
Guess. Just guess.

I heard peeps on D19 and had half my clutch hatch on D20! Maybe you won't have to keep yourself thaaaaaaaaat busy.

We were talking in here about not going anywhere during hatching season. My husband was getting the wild hair to take a trip to HI. He saw a show where they were talking to a Dr. and he said if you already bought your tickets go, if you have not you should consider not going. They say the news has pumped up the virus just to freak people out, My brother-in-law is in HI right now, and he said if he had not already paid for it he would not have gone, he said the grocery store in Maui, they bought the very last disinfectant handy wipe.

They always try to terrify everyone in the news but it is serious according to sources that I know that are closer to the situation...just probably not what the news is showing you. I don't even watch the news anymore.

All of the hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes are all out of stock where I live! We couldn't even find antibacterial hand soap the other day and when we did we stocked up because we will never find it again!

I know!! Don't get me wrong, it warms my little OCD heart that everyone else is finally washing their hands but I'm going to need my usual White Tea scented antibacterial Dial hand soap restocked. Thanks!

Ours is the same way. The guy that helped us today was really good with catching the chicks and he actually got right in the bin with them he was good at getting the cutest ones especially that fat yellow one
