Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I have fowl pox in my flock :hit
This is like the worst timing possible with a new chick hatching any day now. Also means i wont be picking up my new pullets and any future eggs are put on hold
Is there a treatment for it? I've never experienced it before so any knowledge you have is helpful.

I'm sorry about your flock :hugs

Anyone have any ideas how I can clean my bator bottom with chicken eggs in it...

If I took the top off and put by chicken eggs in a basket then put the top on a flat table then take off the bottom... Would that work?

I need to clean the bottom after these ducks are done. They've made a hatching mess 🤮 I don't like my bator being dirty especially when I have other eggs that are hatching later on.

The vet gave me ointment for the hens with scabs and ill have to remove any that pop up at the eyes or mouth. I also have a hen with the wet version thats gone down hill pretty fast, not much he can do sadly. I'll be getting my chicks vaccinated against it from now on
So the chicks that are about to hatch... How do you prevent them from getting it?

I always name mine by something they do. I have those bantams and I'm not naming them yet until they're bigger. I did name that silkie Chubs we were thinking about naming it Butter instead because it's fat like a Butterball turkey 😂

I'll also have to name these 3 ducklings. I hope I can come up with good names
Have you seen grown tsc silkies? They are beasts compared to typical silkies. Sometimes they have straight combs too. Chubs or Butterball is a perfect name.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to get my bantams to use the brooder plate?

I put them under it about 5 times and they all ran out and slept on the other side of the brooder so my husband shut it off. They're not even using the heat... I've never had chicks who don't like the brooder plate.
Maybe raise it higher. Could be too warm for them. Unless they are cheeping in distress, I wouldn't worry too much.
