Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

Pics
Since I had empty spots, I added a couple from my black sex link hen and the new speckled sussex roo I got for free, 3 from my showgirl, and 7 from my ducks. I don't like staggered hatches but I couldn't leave it empty.
I have spots empty but because those are the cold spots in the bator so I don't put eggs there.

Yes, when I candled I saw movement. The pictures are of two different brown eggs. On all 3 I saw movement. Not just small movement but actual swimming looking movement. I guess because it looked dark at the top I assumed it was a blood ring.

You should be just fine then! I think you're just seeing the difference in the amount of light that penetrates the empty air cell vs the fluid in the egg.

Thanks! I am also noticing that the air cell is growing fast. I will be checking it tomorrow (Day 14) and add a little bit of water if they are at the right size for Day 14. It’s only day 2 of removing all the water since the air cells were small before.

I'm not candling again until Wednesday night, but I did crack the egg I pulled last night and it was not fertilized! Win some, lose some!

I have started talking to the eggs when I turn them 🤣🥴

I rather crack em and see that they’re not fertilized, makes me feel better that there was nothing I could have possibly done.
