Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I usually do 24 hours of settling with the pointy end down for shipped eggs. But there is one time I did less. I recently had a batch shipped the Thursday before Presidents’ Day and they got stuck at the post office until Tuesday! I was soooo bummed but the seller literally puts them from nest to box so they were still fresh enough. But I didn’t wait 24 hours to set them. I think I let them sit for 2 hours. They are in my incubator now and seem to be developing well, so hopefully it was a good decision.
I put my shipped eggs in the incubator for the set time, and turned the turner on after 24 hours.

Wow. I thought everyone was out doing interesting things yesterday. I didn't get any notifications and thought I had checked this thread for new posts. When I checked today, there were 20 pages of posts since my last "like". Took me awhile to catch up, lol.

I went on a tiny road trip to get goose eggs today and I found the same when I got home. LOL

its a program to help kids learn about animals and have the opportunity to show and sell at our local fair... its also a leadership development program. I am pretty sure that is not the offical tag line just my understanding of the program.
My daughter's in it and I'm the volunteer leader for our club. It's a youth development program that aims to have the kids "learn by doing." It's mostly agricultural (coming out of the land grant program and run by each state's land grant university), but there are now clubs for all sorts of things, like robotics and cooking.

It's a really awesome program for the kids - they learn to run business meetings, show animals at the fair, give presentation, keep track of a year-long project, etc.

My 6+ Birchen Marana eggs finally shipped today! Should be here Wednesday. And I won 12 Cream Legbar eggs on a BYC crazy auction yesterday that should have shipped today.
Candled the 36 that just started D5. I pulled one due to blood ring.

BYC auction? What’s that?
And congrats!! I was looking at those birds yesterday and was shocked at how expensive they are. My olive eggers look like them, so I’ll just be happy with them (I know OE have CL in em). Although I do want blue eggs. 🤔

I don't even know what she is, I've just been calling her a bantam golden laced Polish 😂 that's what the guy who was selling her called them. I had 2 but the other one ventured into the woods and never returned.

I would assume that she is a bantam since she is the same size as the sebright. She's a flyer too and can fly over the 8 foot fencing.
If she's the same size as your sebright and the breeder said bantam, it certainly sounds like she's a bantam! My polish are always smaller than my other breeds, and lay smaller eggs, but not that small.

I call them Jolene eggs because my 4 lb puppy thinks they're a perfect size when I do them over easy. They have not gotten any bigger in the past 2 months so I assume they're that size for good. We thought maybe they were a new layers egg, but now I doubt that.
