Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

@ShannonsChimkens sorry about your eggs. :-(

@CluckNDoodle I can’t wait to follow your emu hatching in the future. And I vote for geese. I sort of picture geese in my mind as way more a part of the barnyard than ducks. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

get a few more eggs, cause you totally need to keep some
:wee
Ducks are so much better 😂 I don't think I would switch my ducks for geese because there's either good geese or bad geese there's no in between 😂 You either get one that's sweet or you get one that's mean

@ShannonsChimkens @Rockporters , I would love you know what your favorite informational links are for hatching emu eggs! There is someone close to the Sebastopol eggs that has emu eggs and there are a couple people local to me that would like emus...you see where this is going. lol, I would like to at least educate myself on hatching them before I agree. Especially since I would be using a Hovabator for that large of an egg and I don't like it as much as my other incubators.

That article is a pretty good one. I took the advice from the lady I bought the eggs from, then modified it a little. If you’re buying eggs and the farm hatches them at the farm themselves, ask them what they do. They’re doing something right if they have babies and eggs to make more babies.

I forgot the breed of geese that I wanted, they looked really nice but I think a lot of people say that their breed isn't a friendly one. So I scratched them off my wants list 😂

Now I want runner ducks if I can get some from this hatch I'm doing from someone that'll be awesome. I'm sure he would just let me keep a few of them he's a very giving person.

So far all of the domestic geese I have been around were friendly or standoffish, not aggressive, but the friend I hatched goslings for last time said she has been pinched quite a few times when she tried to take their eggs. :lau I mean can you really blame them though? lol!

Ducks are great! @jolenesdad and I did lots of hatching together last year and he shared some of the most adorable pictures and videos of them following him! He managed to get them to imprint on him. Cutest thing EVER! You should definitely keep some if he will let you!

I wanted a Grey Saddleback Pomeranian Geese. I wanted two females. Maybe I'll still get them.

Pretty! You should do it, they're like puppies and actually like the occasional cuddle! How could you say no to this face? :love

Have you ever had geese?

I'm wondering if I should ask my husband. I mean I'm sick in the hospital, I think that means I should get them 😂 I have to do the duck fencing first because I'm separating them from the chickens because my pekin named pickles keeps trying to mate with my roosters and she drives him bonkers so I want to put them in their own area.
