Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I candled the eggs again. Day 12. One more quitter. Here's the weird side air cell egg, looking good.

Wooow, that's so crazy that it's still completely on the side! I mean, that's not even severely tilted, it's just a side air cell, lol. I hope it continues to grow and move the air cell!

I have one exactly like this, too! I have no idea how I'm going to keep it positioned nicely for hatching.

I'm thinking as the chicks grow they will start to "right" the air cells. I've had some that were really tilted and almost on the side but not quite that far!

Does this maybe explain the rocking behavior?

ETA: mine are not rocking, but have seen others here talk about their eggs rocking.

Rocking can be from a number of things but it's often more visible as the chick is rotating to get in position for hatching after lockdown.

I have a frizzle older hen that is getting really aggressive with my other hens. I recently gave away my roosters, I wonder if is a pecking order thing, or is she going to go broody. The roosters were young and none of the hens got fertile from them. I unplugged the winter light today. Hoping that will stop the aggression.
My dominant Barred Rock hen did the same thing when I got rid of my rooster. She took over the flock, but didn't go broody.

The air cell seems to be growing, not moving. I'm going to prop it on its side air cell up and hope for the best. I have them in an upright turner. It's just a weird guy.
