Normally I don't buy any chicks from them, but I'm willing to at this point to get bantams I want.

So my chick is 24 hrs old now, when should I worry if it’s not eating or drinking? I know they can last 3 days without, but all my chicks have been eating and drinking by 24-36 hrs after hatching.

Remind me what's going on with this chick? I don't have the best memory and a lot has gone on since we talking about your chick with issues. Is it a slipped tendon? You will likely need to wrap it up before the chick can get around well enough. After 24 hours the chicks should have perked up enough to be running around the brooder.

We are heading to tractor supply soon. Hoping the bantam bin is full because I promised my roo that's sick that when he gets better he will have bantams just like him. Told him he can't die yet till he has a HeiHei Army. I think Squatch manned up to him and the results aren't good. I don't blame Squatch, he's just doing what roosters do. Needless to say... HeiHei will have his own area with his own kind (bantams) I'll never mix bantams and standard chickens ever again

I was wondering about the size difference and whether I would need to set them up with their own digs. 3 of my eggs are Sebrights and one is a Leghorn, the rooster is a Bantam Mille Fleur.

leg issues (that are not a slipped tendon but present in a similar way) can be resolved with vitamin B. Let me see which one it is. I get bummed because it is NOT in most of the regularlybrecommended initial hatch electrolytes and supplements like Nutri drench.

Yes, slipped or dislocated tendon. I’m not home now but I’ll check on it as soon as I get home. When I put its beak in the water it acted like it was gasping for air so I didn’t leave the water with it.

Lots of people keep mixed flocks successfully. The difficulties will primarily come in when you have two roosters fighting for dominance and the size difference may put the little guys at a serious disadvantage.

The chicks of different sizes being raised together is always helpful. Though, when I integrated my bantam Cochin she ended up integrating as a lone hen and that's usually the hardest integration. I do have a very docile flock but I have chickens as small as my bantam Cochin all the way up to hefty English Orpingtons and everything in between with no issues.

My friend has an even bigger difference in her flock, she has a TINY Silver Duckwing OEGB up to some big Wyandottes.

I'm separating mine. It's risky with Squatch. He's a jersey giant and very powerful. His kick can knock me over... I know because his brother Sid kicked me one day and I fell right over

Okay I’m in a rush.... read this post on in my thread about leg issues. I tried to resolve for three weeks and with vitamin B it immediately resolved. This chick is now a laying pullet that wobbles and hops because I waited so long to get vitamin B2. There’s good info throughout the thread in follow up posts .

A picture would be helpful to identify what you're dealing with but gasping is never a good sign.
