Side note... are there any “clean” ducks. Or are they all a wet mess?

Mine just started laying last month so I have limited experience, but I will say switching up the bedding is giving me clean eggs for the last week now. The rest of their area may be a splishy splashy mess, but at least I have clean (for ducks) eggs for the Easter HAL!

That's what you wanted!!!! Yay!!! I need to get pics of this egg hopefully the duckling isn't out yet so I can show what happened.

See what the heck is this stuff... It's nasty and the duckling was alive this morning. I'm not sure if it still is. It was sticking it's beak out of the hole.

I should have said, sorry! I get lost in here too. And don't get notifications reliably either. A day goes by and I'm lost! LOL

The new bedding is made from corn cobbs. I think it's this: https://www.ruralking.com/becks-corn-cob-better-bedding

I was worried they would eat it, but the farm store was completely out of shavings and hay. No one is eating it and it's staying remarkably clean. And it costs the same as the other stuff I was using, so win-win.

yuck! it kinda looks like the "goo" that an egg has when it doesn't loose enough moisture during incubation> to be fair the ones I have seen that way were clearish goo but ????

I'm think pipped through a blood vessel and didn't loose enough moisture. Where were your air cells at?
