Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

OMG, I lost a cream legbar wednesday, I had just candled it and was putting back when someone startled me and I dropped it. It was perfectly formed Iam so beside myself now. That leaves 18 on day 11 now and 6 on day 5. I so want day 21 to get here fast. I get excited when everyone is pipping and zipping I can't wait for mine to start
I wasn't sure if it would make it that is why I was checking it, it had a crack so I used clear nail polish to cover the crack it seemed to be working because it was growing.

I'm on day 20 so I went ahead and checked the air cell size without actually picking the eggs up and Crackles my cracked egg that was repaired with wax still has an extremely small air cell even though I waited until today to increase humidity. The rest are large and drawing down for hatch so I'm going for humidity for the many instead of the one but I'll be SO sad if this little one doesn't make it since I was really hoping this would change my outlook for undesirable hatching eggs. Well, we will find out soon enough!

Husband just told me there are ducks that need to be evicted out of their eggs told him I'll do it later because it's too early for me right now. I didn't sleep much last night.

I'm running on very little sleep myself. Brewing a nice fresh pot of coffee. On an exciting note, 6 or the 11 eggs pipped overnight! Including 1 of the misfit eggs!

Dripping the ducklings off later today and I have to pick my 3. Husband said he likes the silver ones, black ones, and the black spotted one. So hard to choose

I like them too! You ended up with such a nice selection of ducklings! Don't forget to take some more pictures before you take them to their new home!

It is officially day 21. I still have little Uno all by his lonesome in the brooder. I checked the eggs at 4am and just a few minutes ago with no visible signs of progress. I'm trying to stay hopefully but my husband has been trying to prepare me for the possibility of it just being Uno we get this go around. If Uno is my only chick that hatches my other half has already promised we'll try again but he'll get me a new incubator so we don't have to worry about the ancient relic acting up.

I'll get lots of pics. I want to make an album of them for memories of when I had sepsis and pneumonia and was hospitalized and had a random call from someone we know about incubating 36 duck eggs... I was so delirious I said yes without thinking What a month it's been!
