One more ducky question. With so many babies around I got a bag of Purina organic flock raiser. Will I still need to supplement niacin? I have a big tub of brewer's yeast in the pantry so it's NBD to supplement if needed.
I was under the impression that the difference in vitamin B levels in the two is not really significant (statistically speaking). I can get nooch, but I need to use up this brewer's yeast somehowI think it's nutritional yeast that you want to give them, not brewers yeast.

Soooo hit and miss. I got 2 crested/blue Swedish from a local breeder as day olds; the one is skittish but otherwise sweet, will come eat from your hand, and if you do catch her and hold her, she settles down pretty quick. The other one was insane and scratched and tried to ābiteā when she was petted or held.My ducklings are mentalwhy are ducklings so skittish?
My 3 Pekins and muscovy won't come super close but within a foot. The muscovy will sit on the roof while I'm on the deck and ask for food.Soooo hit and miss. My Appleyards were quiet and sweet from the beginning.
All of them were day olds, weāll see how my home hatched ones turn out...
Niacin is a B vitamin, and both nooch and brewer's yeast are rich in the B vitamins (inccluding niacin). They are derived from the same species of yeast, but are cultivated differently. So I would think nutritionally they are very similar, but if you care about flavor or how they are produced you might choose one over the other.I believe Nutritional Yeast is also higher in niacin...but don't quote me on that. I've only used the two ingredients for cooking not for ducks. lol
Until today, I thought brewers yeast and nutritional yeast were the same thing.Niacin is a B vitamin, and both nooch and brewer's yeast are rich in the B vitamins (inccluding niacin). Here's a good, short read about them: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.be...eckout/brewers-yeast-versus-nutritional-yeast
Annoyingly, I havent seen vitamin B content listed on any of the nooch or brewer's yeast I've purchase, but I mainly get them from bulk containers so maybe that's why? Otherwise it'd be way easier to compare!
I wouldn't. The bacteria is probably already in them just waiting to be incubated.Hmm, what does everyone think about these two eggs? I literally just did an "undesirable egg experiment" and I'm not sure if I should try a couple different methods of sealing and still set these two eggs or if I need to give myself a break, lol. One has a hairline crack but it does appear to go through the shell and there is some slight discoloration leading me to believe it leaked a bit. The other has an actual hole going in to it but doesn't seem to be actually leaking.
I set the other eggs in the Nurture Right 360 that I just finished sanitizing after the last hatch and it will hold 22 eggs...is that like a sign I should leave these 2 eggs out??? I technically could put them in one of the other incubators until I remove the infertile eggs....ugh, decisions, decisions.
