Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

Oh no! So is getting males and females random? Or it’s up to the hen or up to the rooster?
I have read that it is the egg that determines the gender. I have also read that higher incubation temp increases mortality in female embryos, resulting in higher male numbers.

I hear you. We're almost out of creamer for our coffee and I think I'm going to make a trip out to my friend's farm to buy some goats milk for the coffee rather than trying to fight the frantic crowds at the grocery stores right now. If not, I'll just drink it black until things start to normalize a bit.
I have been shaking my fist that my town won't just let me have goats or a rooster, because then I could be self-sustaining during this pandemic, the monsters!!!

Was he disappointed in having to be homeschooled again?
No. He likes being at home and he likes being at school. So he's fine either way. I wanted him to go to public school for high school. He's on the spectrum with some other issues so I wanted him to have more independence. He's adapted to school really well.

@ShannonsChimkens I'm really sorry you lost your pullet:hugs. Your video is so peaceful a serene! Just a peaceful moment in your day and its beautiful! It's
Refreshing to see some calm in the world

Thank you! I so look forward to visiting with them everyday after work.

The Silver Spitzhaubens are pipped. Hopefully they make it out.

I had to relocate the morning chicks because they were walking all over their new sister that had just hatched. 3 hatched in less than 24 hours. One has a good hole going. I’m going to post pics but tell me if you think one has splay leg or is too early to know. Heading to bed. Hope we all wake up to adorable baby chicks!
