To cut or not to cut?

One of my hens looks like her nails are getting too long. Nobody else in the flock has long nails, but they all walk on the same surfaces!

My question is, should I cut them? I have some cutters for my large breed dog's nails, so it would cut them like butter.. hopefully.. lol

I would definitely cut those! My girls for range and don't need nail trimmings very often but I cut the ones that start to curl back or just look like they're causing the hen discomfort.
Do you treat them like a typical dog nail? Watch for the quick & just keep trimming a bit every week until they're short enough?

Is there a quick like dogs ? How can you make sure you trim safely ?
