To Make An Olive Egger......Legbar?????

There was a thread on it just a little while ago, look back a couple pages. JimsFarmStand started it. I believe a professor at a university started the project? He used true Araucanas and commercial (not hatchery) strain Leghorns.

If you are talking about Arkansas blues, they have a pea comb

Great thread! I have a Cream legbar x Ameraucan rooster that I'll be crossing with my Marans hens in the spring. I also have an F2 OE and one EE that I'll be breeding him with as well. Unfortunately it will be a whole year from now before I find out what color of eggs the offspring will lay.

I've read something that if Cream legbar was used to make olive egger, male chick will have white spot on it's head.

Do you experienced ppl agree?
Thank You.

If you are using a legbar male all chicks will get passed one barring gene, meaning all chicks male and female will have a head spot.

If you used a legbar hen crossed to say a black copper marans to make an olive egger then she will pass one barred gene to her sons only, meaning all the males from that cross will have head spots and females will not.
