Today's A&M Weigh-In

[Highland Moongazer]

Jumpy, my only known female. Has no spots at all.

Male #1 (no name). Has only the head spot shown.

Satyr, male #2. Has two matching spots above each ear, like horns.



These are straight from Lake Cumberland, so I dunno if I got lucky or they have good stock. The meat isn't white, but I'm hoping I can get them a bit bigger anyhow. My jumbos (also from LCGB) are only sitting around 11 oz.

Don't really care about the pics.
I hatched eggs from LC lately. NOV. 1 is my weigh in date. I was hoping for 10+Oz. on week 8, so I should be surprised.

Those birds are a good size, Quailzilla!! Very nice! How many do you have? Are these your biggest birds or average for the flock?

I had 13 before I moved them inside my garage (it gets really windy at my house and I need to build additions to their cages....), after which they went crazy and started scalping the crap out of eachother, so I culled all but 7 to keep around for breeding. These are the heaviest ones I have.

What I want to know is how you got them to sit on the scales?

I held them until they got tired of struggling and had the camera ready so when I put them down I could take pictures before they recovered.

I have about 2 dozen pictures of a white smear or a moving wing, or my arm darting to catch them before they started fluttering around the garage. :cP

Okay, I'm not right today

At first, I was reading the numbers as '7.350, 7.360, and 7.440', and trying to figure out why everyone was saying they were a nice size

Then I got my brain working and realized what I was seeing

Those are very nice, I'd love to have some that size!! Where did you say they came from? Lake Cumberland Game Birds? I might have to make a trip over there and see what they've got....they're only about an hour from me
